You're a human being.

Around here, you’re not a number or another statistic.

Which means that sometimes your humanness shows up whether you like it or not. Sometimes that can look like disordered eating habits, picky eating patterns, or restricting any amount of food you can just to feel more in control.

And whether you or your child are ready to heal your relationship with food, I’m here to be your safe space through all of it.

If you’re looking for a provider who will:
  • Honor your symptoms, instead of dismissing them
  • Provide holistic support, not a list of fancy supplements
  • Get curious with you instead of judging you (or your past experience)
  • Create a more balanced and flexible approach, instead of something unsustainable

…then you’re in the right place.

When it comes to how I work,
here’s what you need to know:

  • I’ll always meet you with compassion and curiosity.

  • I’ll honor + validate your relationship with food, and all the phases it's been through.

  • I’ll provide you with science-backed recommendations.

  • I’ll teach you how to identify and meet your food-related needs.

  • I’ll reinforce how rest and recovery are just as essential in caring for yourself.

How I ended up here...

I stumbled on my love for the science of Nutrition through a class in my undergraduate program that I was taking for a pre-pharmacy major. Well, I loved the class so much that I asked the professor, "what kind of career can I do that pertains to this class?" She directed me to the Food Nutrition & Dietetics major to become a dietitian.

I fell in love with the Pacific Northwest while visiting a college roommate and a friend I had met during the dietetic internship. After completing my dietetic internship at The University of Iowa, my family helped me pack up my car to move across the country to Seattle, Washington. I began my dream job of being a pediatric dietitian at Seattle Children's Hospital.

My mentors, the veteran dietitians at Seattle Children's Hospital introduced me to the research around childhood feeding done by Ellyn Satter, MS, MSSW, RDN. The Satter Feeding Dynamics Model (fdSatter) and The Eating Competence Model (ecSatter) demonstrate how to feed ourselves and our children faithfully. These models are food neutral and weight neutral.

I loved getting to work closely with families—both parents and children—who were experiencing eating woes in the household. After 13 years of working at Seattle Children's Hospital, I decided to start the adventure of North Sound Nourishment & Recovery.

a few fun facts about me

I double majored in Food, Nutrition, & Dietetics and Spanish.

I’m a huge fan of being outdoors. When I'm not working, you can find me outside playing with our dogs, hiking, snowboarding, or camping.

I’d rather enjoy a delicious meal than worry about having a perfectly clean kitchen.

I love all animals, especially dogs. If I could, I would rescue all the dogs that need homes.

I’m known for making friends in all kinds of unconventional ways.
