I'm sure we can all recall food stories, whether they are good experiences or not. We'll connect the dots of how your experience with food growing up has gotten you here.
With a direct link of fixation on food and not loving how your body looks and feels, conversations about body image and how certain foods make you feel are very much allowed!
I know it may sound counterintuitive, but when you start to let go of control and rigidity around food and instead focus on giving yourself permission and tuning in to your body's cues, your body can return to a place of trust.
I'll work closely with your eating disorder support team (therapist, psychiatrist, primary care provider, and other specialists) to help you feel grounded and supported through eating disorder recovery.
Together, we'll create a structured approach to meal time that allows you to explore flexibility while honoring what your body needs during recovery.
We are a Health at Every Size (HAES) informed practice which means that bodies of diverse shapes, sizes, abilities, and identities are celebrated and cared for.
All sessions are conducted through Telehealth. For teens (ages 13 years & older), they will have individual time separate from parent(s). For children (12 years & younger), sessions will be conducted with parent(s).
back to the questions
Yes! Recovering from an eating disorder is absolutely possible! Recovery happens when you’re supported and in relationship with others: with providers on your care team, with your loved ones, and with yourself. Recovery is a process that requires time, energy, and willingness to be vulnerable.
back to the questions
For infants, toddlers, & school-age children (ages 6-12), I primarily meet with parents/caregivers. Children can be present for part of the visits but it is important to have childcare or child-free time for parents/caregivers to be fully present during our time together. As we work together, we will determine if and when it is appropriate to have your child join in the sessions.
For adolescents, I primarily meet with your teen, checking in with & updating parents/caregivers either at the end of the visit or every couple of visits.
